What is Taekwondo

Taekwondo, which is a national martial art of Korea, is one of the proudest cultural heritages for the Korean people. Taekwondo has been developed into a modern sport as a result of painstaking through their incessant upgrading of technical and spiritual refinement. At the same time, it has been firmly established as a real national martial art enabling the people to defend the nation.

The practice of Taekwondo has the merits, especially in the fields of spirit, of establishing the genuine ethical senses in a human being by means of refining personal character. Therefore, the norms of etiquette have been set up so that Taekwondo practitioners may follow them as the guides of action and the philosophy of their daily life.
